Venue: The University of Hong Kong & Guangdong University of Foreign Studies
Organizers:
The School of Modern Languages and Cultures, The University of Hong Kong

Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

Background

This workshop is first initiated by Professor Kiyomitsu Yui of Kobe University to provide a forum for postgraduate students from all over the world to exchange their ideas and research results. The first workshop was conducted in July 2009 at Kobe University, the second in January 2010 at The University of Hong Kong, and the third in October 2010 at Kobe University. We believe that Professor Yui’s idea is excellent because such a workshop can help promoting the encounters of young scholars on Asian Studies all over the world. The School of Modern Languages and Cultures, The University of Hong Kong therefore would like to continue to conduct the workshop in Hong Kong in January 2011.

Format

It will be a 4-day workshop from 6 to 9 January 2011. We will do the first 2-day workshop at The University of Hong Kong and another 2-day workshop will be held at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. That is to say, participants will move to Guangzhou after the first 2-day workshop at The University of Hong Kong.

Each paper will be given 1 hour, of which 15 minutes will be devoted to presentation and the rest of 45 minutes for discussion.
